Case Study – Adjustable Christmas Tree Stand


  • Developed from a rough conceptual thought of a hassle free Christmas tree stand that can accommodate and make easy to adjust most any type of cut tree and trunk shape
  • Reverse engineering of a four-point adjust and lock system by means of a simple press and release foot pedal working in concert with a ball and socket profile
  • Hands on creation of vacuum form patterns from wood through to part forming and fabrication from polystyrene sheet to construct functionally robust prototypes for product concept demonstrations with live trees and sales purposes
  • Developed during my tenure at a Cleveland design firm
